It had been a few years since their last family photo session, and now that the kids were a little older (and much taller!), Brandy decided it was time to update the family photo album. Here's how her family beach photo session with Austen Hunter went:
Navarre Beach Photographer
Navarre Beach is a quiet community 25 miles east of Pensacola. The town is largely made up of many retirees and military members. It has a fishing pier that's popular with the locals, some beachfront hotels for vacationers, and the city was featured in the filming of Jaws 2 back in 1977. It also just so happens to be a spectacular place for a beach portrait session.
Family Photos on Navarre Beach
It was a temperate June afternoon when we met Brandy and her family of 10 for the family beach photo session at the Dolphin Pavilion on Navarre Beach. The area is a great spot to start for a Navarre Beach photo session, due to it's free parking, public restrooms, and quick access to the beach. The family knew how to dress for beach pictures, and came with coordinated teal and accented-blue outfits.
After some pleasantries and introductions, we got the camera out and started the session. We started on the boardwalk and made our way down to the shore. Along the way I shared some tips on how to get great family beach pictures, in between taking photos.
What I particularly like about Navarre Beach is the long wooden rampart that leads across the dunes and to the beach. The wooden rampart offers subjects something to pose on, in addition to forming some pleasing leading lines that enhance our composition. One thing I am always looking to create in my photography sessions is variety in my photos, so my clients have plenty of great images to choose from!
Beach sessions are special to me and many of my clients, because the Gulf beaches in the Florida panhandle are truly one of a kind, bringing many people from all over the world to enjoy our sun & sand. It truly is a great place to create an unforgettable memory.
